Hometown: Biloxi, Mississippi

Originally from Mississippi, Mr. Rogers has been a resident of Columbus for over 30 years. Following high school, he attended the Jones County Community College. He left there and played semi-pro Phi Slama Jama. He moved to Columbus in the early ’90s and has been a community leader for over 28 years.

Mr. Rogers decided to take over the Lancaster Thunder after watching his sons play for the team. He was confident that he was ready to take over the team and that the city is ready to continue and able to support a professional team. The goal being not only to provide entertainment, but also to give back to the community. He has been blown away by the support the team has received from the city of Lancaster.

Hometown: Lancaster, Ohio

Following graduation from Lancaster High School, Michael attended Ohio University where he graduated in 2006. He became involved with the Thunder towards the end of the first season after attending every home game. Michael began by doing artwork, posters, and creating highlight videos. He began the second season as a marketing and media coordinator. Michael secured partnerships with area businesses and eventually took over the team’s social media accounts and website.

On game day, Michael can be found doing numerous jobs. He sets up the live-stream, films the game, marks out the three-point line, and help with set-up and tear-down. He receives a lot of help from his young son, Isaac, who is a constant fixture at the games. Michael and his family have enjoyed having the Thunder in Lancaster.
