Lancaster Wins Season Opener

Lancaster, OH – November 5 | The Lancaster Thunder begin the 2022/23 PBA season with an 84-71 victory over the Shoreline Wolves. Ohio University Lancaster was the venue for the opening game of the season and it was played in front of a loud and engaged crowd. The Thunder jumped out to an early lead but the Wolves clawed their way back to keep it close. However, Lancaster eventually pulled away going up by 20 at one point.

JaeTuan Williams and Sean Rogers Jr. were electric all game long. Williams made some of his trademark acrobatic shots and appeared to be in MVP-form already. Rogers was a force in the paint pulling down rebounds on both sides of the ball. He also brought the crowd to its feet with an alley-oop dunk off the backboard from Tristan Pierce.

The win was also coach Brett McKnight’s first of his coaching stint. With only four practices before the game, McKnight was able to get his team ready for the challenge. With a handful of new players and limited time, his team rose to the challenge and came away with the victory.

Next up for the Thunder is a weekend double-header.
Saturday, November 12: vs Tennessee Speed | 6pm | Ohio University Lancaster
